 Ok, ok. . .seriously Tibbsy. . .I think the flat-silver-gray P3 is a perfect example of a bike that I'd prefer function over form with. . .The frame is still ungainly looking to me, but we all know it damn well works great. If the 52cm 700c had a 53cm top tube. . .there'd be one in my stable.

And I agree on the Aegis = function over form bit. . .ugly bikes that work. . .(yes, yes, Tom. . .if they fit)

Ok, back to the matter at hand--Sadly, I'm hung up on asthetics. The five dollar Kalloy seat post on my C'dale works just fine as a seatpost, but IMO, cheapens the whole package, hence I'm looking to replace it. I doubt I'll be buying Dura-Ace 10 speed because I thing the darn cranks look awful (Okay, I can't afford it either, but that's tertiary).

If you think the Aegis are ugly, you haven't seen my Aegis Trident. Custom paint. I work for the company that makes the color-shifting pigments used in currency (i.e. the '20' in the corner of the new $20 that changes from green to copper with angle) and got them to paint the bike with one of our new products. I'm biased, but it's one of the best-looking bikes I've ever seen. If someone will post them, I'll mail out pictures.

The bike is a nice ride too- top tube and head tube are a little long/tall, but it works for me.

I ride an aegis.. Mine is pretty, just like the girl:) I had 3 colors customs paint job and added flowers on it, it looks sharp and feel sharp!

It's going forward.

Here is my point. right now the lines of the bike just don't trip my trigger BUT the test ride I did made me a believer. If I had one and rode it everyday I would say it was beautiful purley off performance. To me it's put up or shut up if if something is pretty it doesn't mean crap unless it can perform.

That's why Paros Hilton is such a nightmare. Not only does she look like a spider monkey but the spider monkey is smarter and more accomplished. She is nasty.

I think the Aegis isn't a good looking bike, and I don't know how it performs. I'd take performance over looks every time, though.



PS: I have both performance and looks, but not until I married my wife!

Amen, brother. As for the function over form question with regard to bikes, I guess I would choose function over form, if it was necessary. Luckily, it isn't, usually.

Poor poor Dan. In an attempt to be funny you tried to use my own words agianst me, a ploy which I always enjoy but you missed.

You see Queen is rock-n-roll royality. They are battle tested and proven over decades they do rock. You should have saved it for when I used some half ass band, sub 41 for example.

Once agian Dan you need to go into your shop and keep to yourself before you get hurt.
