Heck I just want to ride the one I got right now. One more week and my daughter's wedding is over.

Need to think about a bike week in G Town. Hope everyone likes wind!!!

I think fiddleboy will need training wheels by then. I am not sure he knows how to ride anymore.

I've got a longboard (well 8'6") you can use.

You don't need to worry about my bike prowess. It will be what it will be and you'll know about it long before then as you'll be dragging my slow ass around training.

Not an expert on Jellyfish habitat but I have lived in and around Galveston all my life. The swim is at Moody Gardens which is on the bay side of the Gulf, not typical to see them there.
With the event being held in early April it will be a little cool for them as well.

Well until I hear otherwise your input makes me feel alot better. A cool weather half in my homestate...now that might make me rethink about ever attempting another one;-) Plus I've heard alot about Moody Gardens.

I did version 1 of this race. Skipped v1.1. But, the swim is on the northwest side of the island (the side looking at the mainland.) The water was cool enough for wetsuits. No jellies around. Even with the issues of the first iteration, it is a great venue to hold a race and I applaud KJ for getting it done. I know it wasn't an easy sell with the issues from the previous years still in city management's minds.

I agree with the venue...It's by far the best venue I've seen. Moody Gardens is spectacular, and is used to handling 20,000 people a day. Plenty of food, activities, parking, etc...Huge hotel/resort on site, beautiful grounds, large convention center....it has it all for a race....

Now, we just have to pull it off:)
