58T for Shimano 12sp

(Sorry if this has been posted before please redirect me if it has)

So I was convinced to go 12sp for my TT bike and need a bigger chainring but have pretty much zero options I can find. Looking for a 58T (at least a 56T) for Shimano 12sp. Has anyone found anything out there that’s compatible?

Thanks for the help!

Pyramid, although you will need to use a non-Shimano chain, or at least a non-Shimano quick link. They explain in the FAQs.

Thanks! I just saw someone post a photo of one coincidentally. Will look into that as an option and check out the FAQ

Alugear, Garbaruk to name a few. The Alugear looks really nice with the matching cover , Rotor goes up to 56 for a 2x but I guess with wanting a 58 you are looking at a 1x option.

We (AeroCoach) make 58t Aten (our aero chainring range) Shimano 12spd for 1x and 2x, as well as a 60t 1x option if you want it too.

Do they fit SRAM cranks?

Yes we make rings for SRAM 107bcd 4 bolt, just not the 60t 1x option

I just rode the Aten at 24 Hour World TT champs. Definitely take a look at their site as there are marginal gains there. Fitment is gorgous and the big NW teeth have been flawless for me over 1000+ miles. No chain catcher needed here!

@xavier I thought I read somewhere that Quarq power meters don't quite fit the Aten. Is that correct?

130bcd non hidden bolt Quarqs can fit Aten rings fine, as well as 110bcd 4 bolt DFour. What doesn't work is 130bcd hidden bolt, 110bcd 5 bolt and also direct mount (but 107bcd 4 bolt is okay).

Awesome, thank you for the quick reply. I have the 110 bcd 4 bolt, so it looks like an upgrade is in my future.

Sure thing. The only issue we've found with 110bcd 4 bolt cranks is the SRM Origin cranks: we couldn't get a design to work well without it being a completely separate option (which would have been too expensive!).

Thanks for the info - I think aerocoach seems like the best option if I can get it in time.

For the 11sp chainring - you are just running the chainring as 11sp, cassette and chain remain 12sp correct? I assume the risk is some inefficiency/risk of dropping due to chain link spacing?
