Too Young for a Half Iron?
Do you think doing a half at 18/19 is too young? Would I be better off if I waited a year or so to do one? I have been racing sprint and olympic for 3 years and come from a swimming background.

Thanks!

Heck yeah you are! Go for it!

(I did my first at age 20, coming from a swimming background too. enjoy it!)

The only bummer is if you place in your AG they give you grape juice instead of wine. rip off! :)

I did my first marathon when I was 17, during the middle of my senior year cross-country season. My coach was not amused. ;) Likewise, did my first HIM at 19. IMO, as long as your training has prepared you for the event and you are currently in good medical (physical/mental) health, then you're good to go!

Bonus if you have friends around you who are into the same thing. I was on the triathlon team at both universities I attended, and it really helped to have friends who were more interested in doing a brick together or finding a new bike route than pregaming to to out on thirsty Thursdays...
