A long time best friend is turning 40 the end of April. She lives in L.A. and I'm in Eastern WA. I've looked into flights to go down to her B-Day celebration dinner, but flights are $$ and my time is short. I told her today I wouldn't be able to come and she was pretty upset with me.
In the past several years I've been to her engagement party, Bachelorette party in San Francisco (stayed at the Clift), wedding in Palm Springs (rooms at the Parker), baby shower in L.A and have tagged on other visits with business travel when I can. She is a life long friend and important to me, but I just can't swing it this time.
Do any of you other single gals ever start to feel a tiny bit resentful over all the travel, gifts and $$$ you put out to your marrying, baby having friends, or am I just a bitter weed? (I'm not really bitter, I just wish she would have been more understanding.)
Grrr....
Rant over.
