My pre-run snack in the evening is a medjool date torn in half, pit removed, and then used as a scoop for about 1/2tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder. I buy the higher fat content cocoa (they call it "
ruddy red") and it's bloody marvellous.
Before bed I have one single square of Lindt
Excellence 90%, eaten in little nibbles. It seriously takes me over 5mins to eat one 1.5" square.
Between those two, I can usually quell chocolate cravings. If I'm desperate, a mashed banana mixed with 1-2tbsp of cocoa powder and 1tsp of almond butter is an amazing chocolate pudding, or mashing and whipping raw avocado with cocoa powder, a bit of almond butter and maple syrup makes a silky chocolate mousse.
