I am not sure if it is new, but it sure seems like it. There does not seem to be any brake rub on the rim, just some shop wear (no dings or holes). It is green, so you will not feel bad about sanding it down and painting it to match your ride. It is a good wheel, but I just dont need it. It is currently set up as a 7sp freewheel, but this can accomidate a 8sp as well (I have heard somewhere that there can be 9 and 10sp freewheels as well, but I am not sure if this is accurate), but you can always go friction to make it work with your current system (which is what I run anyway so that I am not annoyed in the middle of a race with pesky ghost shifting...I have an unusual setup).
