I have been waiting to hear back from the LBS. I didn't think it would be that pricey!

Yeah, I was trying to redo my front end and it turned out that everything inside is all seized up from sweat, water and leaked sugary hydration. The only way to proceeed would have been to cut it off, which would have meant a new base bar. When I heard the price, I figured I didn't need to drop that cm or two THAT badly! So, we put it all back together and left it alone. Good luck!

Ha, thanks. I called a shop today after your quote and I was told $560. That's nuts. Guess I got to determine whether or not my baseball that I had on my old bike that I wrecked is stable and just banged up or if it needs to be replaced. Hopefully it structurally sound.
