FS: faithful, but wobbly, rear 700 HED3 clincher
Quote | Reply
Not sure what the wheel is worth. But she's been very loyal and deserves a good home rather than my cold garage or the dump.

It's a Dec 2003 rear HED3 clincher 700 originally marked as 31 thousandth within true. Well not anymore, its more like 1/8 inch out of true (not sure why). Braking surfaces are 7/10. Bearings are 10/10. I just rebuild the cone side and added grease to the sealed side. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Graham

2 things..... the bearings are not aligned properly and they need to be shimmed, or the bearings are not pressed in tight enough resulting in "wobble". I sent mine back to hed they told me nothing was wrong. They said some hop was normal.
