Bike for Sale -- Help me upgrade! Gotta sell the old before I can buy the new.
If you are ready to upgrade to your first triathlon machine, this is the bike for you. I bought it used, raced it for three seasons, and have babied it all the way. The bike is in fantastic shape and comes ready to ride. Never crashed. It took me through Ironman Wisconsin and the USAT Halfmax Championships -- it is solid and dependable. Many pictures available.
Bonuses:
1. If you live locally (near Ames, IA), sale includes FREE TUNEUPS AND REPAIRS by me for as long as you own the bike.
2. If you live within about three hours of me, I will deliver the bike to you.
I am willing to sell the bike three different ways:
Package 1: Basic bike
Complete Bike, all Shimano Ultegra 9-speed components (new chain 2007, new chainrings 2006), three cassettes (11-21, 11-23, 12-27), standard bullhorn base bar, Syntace aero bars, and Dia Compe brake levers. Basic Terry saddle. Rolf Vector Pro 650c wheels with a rear CH disc cover. (Read about it on the main forum – a wheel cover is just as aero as a Zipp or Hed disc, and costs $65 instead of $1400. Go fast for less!) Rolf wheels are bombproof – they never go out of true. Bike computer with speed, distance, and cadence monitor included. I will even throw in an old set of SPD pedals.
Price: $600 + shipping, conUS
Package 2: Bike plus FSA cockpit and comfy saddle
You get everything in Package 1, plus the following:
Price $800 + shipping, conUS
Package 3: The Works
You get everything in packages 1 and 2, plus a set of HED carbon race wheels:
650c clinchers
The wheels are about as old as the bike but were purchased seperately on eBay (not sure of exact year of manufacture). Wheels come with Michelin Ironman tires installed – plenty of rubber left on them. They came to me with some scuffs and marks but are structurally sound and dependable. I have treated them with the care and attention that carbon race wheels deserve. Both wheels will be trued at Bike World before you get them. Go faster!
One race-ready bike, two sets of wheels, tons and tons of upgrades –
Price $1000 + shipping, conUS (probably two boxes, wheels and bike shipped separately -- I will cover shipping costs in excess of $70)
Comments:
Bike is pictured below as it was last January. New Vision aerobars weren't on yet, and the stem pictured isn't the Vision stem, just something I was experimenting with to get lower. The cadence sensor cable has now been run through the frame as well. Non-Trek stickers have now been removed as well.

Please contact me with any questions you may have. Best wishes, thanks for taking a look!

Comments:
- No, at the moment I will not sell the race wheels separately. They are an absolute steal at $200 in package three. Buy the package and then resell the bike if you like.
- I have priced this bike to sell, but I may consider offers. Every dollar I make from this sale goes to a new bike for me.
- Yes, I will consider shipping outside of the continental US, but you will pay ALL the shipping and tariffs. Probably, it isn't worth it for you.
