Oh yeahh.. Tim DeBoom has announced his entry to the World's Toughest Half IM.

Lets get some predictions going:

1. Tim

2. Bjorn (I'm pretty sure he's gonna be there, any conformation on this?)

3. Clas

4. Jonas

5. Byrn

6. Chris McDonald

i find it interesting that deboom seems to be racing much more this season than in the past couple years. his longest races last year were a couple halfs before kona. this year he's doing ironman germany and now the world's toughest. seems a bit different style of preparation for him. or does he still have to qualify with his dnf last year?

So far Tim is actually racing less this year, that is frequency. However, for the first time in a few years he is racing an additional Ironman. As for qualifying, if memory serves me, I seem to recall that former IMH champions can enter whenever they like.

Tim actually raced 3 1/2 IM last year, Memphis in May, Boulder Peak, and the Boulder Stroke and Stride series (at least I think that was the name).

Oh yeah, predictions: 1) Tim, 2) Clas, 3) Bjorn.

"Tim actually raced 3 1/2 IM last year"
Don't forget Tim also raced Wildflower - which he won.

There's definitely an advantage for last year's participants who know the course. Here are my predictions:

1. Tocker (if he races, got 2nd last year with amazing bike split)

2. Gordo

3. Bjorn or Tim

You are correct. Was it more than 3 1/2 IM last year? I seem to remeber him winning Ralph's, Wildflower, and second place at Eagleman. Did I miss one?

I don't think Bjorn is going to be there this year - the e-mail from Brad didn't have him listed.

The advantage on this course goes to runners who can handle the trails. These are not fire roads, though - for the most part it is single track with steep ups and downs that will send your HR soaring. Find the person who spends a lot of time running on this stuff, and you will probably find your winner.

Do you realize that the race has already passed and this thread is more than two months old?
