Both the Dauphine and Women's Tour Of Britain were done before I had my post-run coffee made this morning

Have an early start tomorrow, actually pinning on a number to road race. First (and last) since 2016!

road race! nice. I'm not sure I even remember road races (though a few road gran fondos with times segments feel very similar).
I'm picking up a wrist bracelet for a 103 mile charity ride (for the rest stops) tomorrow - great roads.
I'll try to channel my inner Marc Soler to tickle a 21mph average (more likely I'll feel like Soler looked at the finish) - we're down a few soldiers who can make more pace than I.
Will anyone play Soler's role tomorrow?

separate question/hypothetical: does it make sense to neutralize some descents on rainy days/ can it even be done?
it sure seems like the gaps don't change much on descents when wet and both groups are riding single file (maybe I'm wrong).
