i was looking at the updated regulations on tt bikes, and i *think* they entail that the tr1, which used to be noncomforming, might actually be ok now. does anyone with more knowledge of this have any insight?

It would still need to be approved by the UCI individually from what I understand

There is a Gennix TR1 on the approved list, but you'll want to make sure that it's the same frame. If it is, you're good. Has to be on the list to be approved.

thanks! looks like it was on the list when it has a special UCI legal fork. the standard fork violated the 3:1 rule. but since that rule has been removed, i'm guessing its ok now.

Fork is subject to approval as well, needs to have the "UCI Fork" label or be on the list with the frame.
