Ironman deferral question
So I have flex 90 benefits.
I'm going to defer a 2024 race to 2025.
What happens if for some reason ironman doesn't run the same race in 2025?
Let's say the town doesn't approve it so ironman had to cancel it?

Can you do that? I thought you defer to a race in the same year?

Both are true. .can defer to a race in the same geographic area (who the hell knows how they define that) in the same year OR the same event the next year.

Make sure you defer more than 45 days in advance of the event no matter what your Flex90 benefits said when you signed up. They are enforcing the 45 day rule to all 2024 events even if your Flex90 benefits said something different at the time of sign up.

I had signed up for the Mont Tremblant full in 2023. Work and other things got in the way and knew I wouldn't be prepared so I deferred to 2024. The full in Mont Tremblant is now no more so they gave me the option of Lake Placid or a few other IM's. I picked LP as it was the closest for me, so can confirm if you defer and the race doesn't exist next year, they give you options.

I deferred IM Alaska the one year they did it. The race got canceled/discontinued for the next year. Options were pick another race or get a full refund. I took the refund.

But you don't know the weather forecast until about 7 days out.

Not sure I follow? What would weather have to do with anything?
