He was a good one. Represented a time when politicians seemed to be better about crossing the aisle and working with each other rather than trying to "own" the other party.

I often wonder what it would be like if he and Gore had won the election. How would things have played out differently in Iraq or with climate change regulations or anything else? What would have the following elections looked liked?

Rest in peace. A politician who vainly tried to hold to a middle that has disappeared. I disagreed vehemently with his neo-conservative hawkishness on Iraq (a position he never dropped).
