Hey Doug, hope you can get into a groove here soon, what is a full lane at your pool where you can't swim??

full = 1 person, but they are typically doing a kind of weird back-breast-flop stroke, or veering wildly back and forth, or completely unacquainted with the idea of sharing a lane.. ha.
at the cold pool it's mostly serious swimmers, at the closer warm pool it's mostly old folks getting some exercise in the water.. honestly I'm one of them.

there are 3 lap pools in the area but after covid only 2 of them are regularly open, seems to be a shortage of lifeguards. Current day rate is $20/hr so that may be my retirement job..

Sucks Doug that the entire pool are floating lily pads, I hate that when it occasionally happens. But if it does, I will ask them to team up in the same lanes, especially the water walkers. So far have gotten no real push back and folks are obliging..

This NCAA meet is getting me all psyched up, so trying to feel the water and hit turns more than usual. Since I cannot generate any type of speed I'm watching, will settle for a good feel, even though I didnt..Had 57 minutes today so did a little of both distance and 50's:

3x(500buoy or pull@7;30/7;00/200frog@4;00)buoys(7;11/6;58)pull(6;29)frogs(3;47/40/36)
10x50@1;00as 2x(3x50buoy/50back/50frog) buoys(41 to 38+'s) back(41's)frog(55/54)
2x200p@3;00(2;37/34)100frog@2;00(1;50)
5x50@1;00-3buoy(41/40/40)1 swim(33)1kick
3350SCY in 57 minutes

I try and always get in 3, usually get 4, and on great weeks where I'm home and not sick, even get 5.

But like you have been traveling lately so do get stuck with the 2 a week sometimes. I find that at 3 I can still improve, unless I had to take a week or two off, then I improve on the first one!!! Currently sitting at 4, but also getting two really small runs in and the occasional once a week bike ride. I have settled on 4 to 6 hours a week of training, wish it was more, hope for it to be more, but the logs dont lie...)-;

Happy Zombie Jesus, everyone.

I did a gentle 2500m (48:58) today - my first longer one in a while. It was good to "just swim". Some might use "mindless" to describe this kind of swimming. I prefer "mindful". And "therapeutic".

I only swim.
I used to run. (31:09 10k)
I never did Triathlon.
Sue me.
