What we should really do
I want to make and share videos about:
Multi-sports, geography, music, art, poetry, philosophy and spirituality.

I have a couple of video projects that I am working on.

The easiest of these (to bring to an acceptable edit) involves:
1) A 4.5 hour bike, run, bike
2) A Spotify playlist of Rumi poems, with music, read by Deepak Chopra and celebrity friends.
3) Longish go-pro shotS of me riding-run-riding through deserts and mountains.

Anyone interested in this?
Can we start this here?

I assume there is all manner of copy right issues.
Maybe we can get some help with this

Feel free to PM me if that's better.

That seems like an unnecessary comment. Could have just closed the thread and moved on.

By extrapolation of that then the only responses 'allowed' are positive. Ie anyone that is a no wouldn't post, and only anyone that was interested would post affirmative. That is likely to lead to a very misleading view to the OP if all they have is 6 yesses, when in reality it's 6 yes vs 2,000 no.

I'd say the reply above was simple and negative. It wasn't abusive, didn't suggest that they would far rather watch a go-pro of the OP getting a rectal prostate exam to a jazz music soundtrack with a catface video filter overlay. That you could say was unnecessary.

And for clarity, I am a general no to any form of youtube other than a walkthrough of how to fix the specific domestic appliance that has just broken on me, and even then I'd prefer a text post with still images inserted. And so there would have to be a really high bar to interest me, and the suggestions aren't going over that. But there's bilions of people that aren't me that seem to like watching videos way more, so others are free to be more positive, such as Swimcyclesprint.

Hey, snowflake, the OP asked a question & I answered truthfully.

I think it's a two -part question:

1) would you watch?
2) would you like to help?

"No" to #1, implies "No" to #2 as well

I'd be a yes, to #1 (as an artist, I'm a keen follower of "No Input/No Output" mantra) but not being a GoPro user, not sure how I could help?

I would suggest a way to bundle the ride/run and Art aspects in a way we have in Philly, with the MuralMiles club

I’m with japarker24 here. Dude asked a question and it was answered. Also a resounding no from me. Watching videos of someone exercising is literally one of the last things I’d ever do or want to do.

Does it matter if we're interested?

You said it's what YOU want to do. Isn't that all that matters?

It's always nice to know what you're creating is being appreciated, though

Thanks for the feedback.

To be clear, I am NOT talking about Moving Exercise Selfies.

The intensity I am looking for is more like this.

(Although I would prefer less fear and more ecstasy)

We should see if we can get Brian Safa to start a thread here.

Thanks.

You are one of the mentors/collaborators I had in mind when I started this thread.

Let's discuss the Philadelphia Mural Project Run.

You may have a huge advantage.

Perhaps you can compose your own musical soundtrack?

How hard would it be to create a simple, but sonorous music, that matches the rhythm of a running/cycle cadence?

I have a similar project in mind.

I want o try to create a purely auditory sound track designed to accompany a given individual (probably a cycling tourist) as they ride up Mt Lemmon.

There are a lot of technical glitches I need to resolve before I can start that project.

The most serious is that I feel that I need to get music.

I suppose if I only share the soundtrack with friends, I don't need to figure out copyright issues???

Many many years ago, before TikTok, Instagram - probably before YouTube, even - before GoPros or iPhones (perhaps?), there was a dude in Boston filming POVs with a pair of HandyCams (or something similar) taped to his head as he Fixied about

I'm not a musician by any means - I'm a bass player, and an awful one at that LOL

You could probably find plenty of lofi/ambient/instrumental music around with a Creative Commons License which basically means it's free to use and share - without copyright issues - as long as it's credited properly

If discovered quite a few artists through Ben Gravy's videos, just by checking out the credits/links in the show notes

I think there's even sources that "spec" music by BPM, if that's what you're looking for - used by Peloton classes for instance

It is going to take weeks to get my first draft project up.
(I work, train 10-22 hours/wk, and have family obligations).

In the meantime...

Trainer videos.
Racing and riding footage is great.

But I also have a serious soft spot for hypnotic feeling electronic music.

Here is a favorite video for a moderate/easy 1 hr ride.
