Aero Extension armrest with gps mount and bta setup suggestion
Quote | Reply
Hi everyone,

Looking to replace my stock cockpit (profile design armrest with basic alloy extension) with something more aero / comfy and with bta setup and gps mount. Really like extension like new profil design 43 asc but seems they difficulty allow to use standard gps mount and bta setup.

Cannot afford 1000$ + custom setup, setup around 500 dollars will be nice !

On my list i've for the moment :
- Drag2zero setup (extension and armpad) with specific bta holder form armrest (around 500$)
- Ron wheels aeron cockpit bundle (that include gps mount and bta system, around 500$ during black friday sales)
- Testuo neo tao x3 with include gps mount and bta adaper with ? extensions (350$ + extensions)

Any other suggestion ? (I'm EU based so)

Thanks a lot

I used the 76 project TT mount with my 43asc aerobars and it worked great. Awesome computer mount.

This would work; Profile also makes a similar (less expensive and less elegant) mount: https://profile-design.com/...cts/ucm-aerobridge-1
I ditched the clamps for zip ties.

For BTA mounting, you can go with a cheap zip tie hack, or use these profile crossbars: https://www.google.com/...=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Same as Khanlon on the mount, I attach it on the round part of the extensions, but I've seen others have it lower down on the more shaped sections.

For the BTA if you use the Supersonic brackets, you can combine that with the Supersonic (J5) BTA bridge, pretty clean solution. Only caveat is that your extensions have to be 100mm apart (centre to centre), which is perfectly fine for me, you can rotate the extensions to narrow that gap at the top.

How urgent is this?

My new aero 22.2 will finish late December and ship in January or February.

What bar is it attaching to?

Profile Design 45/25 SLC or 51 Speedshop aero bars are decently priced. Other aero looking bars are ridiculously expensive so I didn’t even bother to look at. I use 76 Garmin mount and it does work pretty good. You can use high sided arm rests from 51 Speedshop, Aerocoach, Ron, Aerolab…etc. With these components, you should be able to make your cockpit more aero for sure.
