I knew this would happen, did this thread far too early it died and someone has made a duplicate thread (which is what was wrong with the old ITU race day thread format) this is the original so I'll post in this one!

Maybe we need a do race day threads a week before to avoid this happening.

tbf one of the strengths of the simple rolling 'ITU' thread was that those interested 'knew' that what it was for and it stayed on the front page.
The standard and shorter course elite events are in a series and have a narrative and an 'obvious' long term goal (next Olympics) and much of the commentary and discussion running up to a particular race, such as Montreal, is best if in context of the overall WTCS (and cups for GJ) races, ranking and qualification/selection targets/progress.
I have lifted @SheridanTris early post and others' comments and posted them on the (less shouty titled) thread.
