upgrades on Motobecane Nemesis - help needed
Quote | Reply
Hi all, i've cycled most of my life but only recently bought a TT Motobecane nemesis second hand for 300 bucks, so I couldn't pass up that deal.

Thats the link to my bike, Im looking for any upgrades that are compatible with perhaps the crankset, front/rear derailleur, cassette/freewheel (i would like to make it a 10 or 11 or 12 speed if possible), or if even needs to be upgraded.
Some of the posts suggested that as a beginner cyclist, the components of the bike is more than I need.

Here is what I have done so far:
I bought Aeroelastic saddle and I have been riding it for 6 months (700 miles) and I am loving it. from amazon.

Speedplay peddles

it came with Kenda Kontender, 700x23c that I used up, and I decided to go with Continental ultra sport III 700/25 tires

I would like to change the aero bars with something else, my elbows are so tight together and my wrists get sore from the angle of the bars.

so thats my story, I would appreciate any input and or suggestions from you all.

its my first post on here, be nice to me lol

Welcome to the crazy world of riding a bicycle as fast as you can - IMHO one of the most fun things you can do.

The bad news is "you" yourself are a far more responsible for slowing things down, than the bike itself. Find someone selling one of those cheap trainers that will hold the bike up with you sitting on it. Stick a piece of 2x4 wood under the front wheel to help level things, then get on it, wearing your helmet, get in your best aero position, and then have someone take pictures from the side and the front. A video of you actually pedaling would be even better. Post them here for us to see. This is far more important (right now) than spending money upgrading your bike.
