Sky/Ineos marginal gains or not. .
The “marginal gains” thing with Sky always amazed me. The original TT helmet they used for years was often times an aero turd. Everybody assumed it had to be fast because Sky used them! I went with a group of 8 people to the wind tunnel and everybody tried it out. Only one person was faster with that thing. I talked to the guy who ran the tunnel and he said it rarely worked well on anyone. If Sky were really all in on every marginal gain there would have been some diversity in helmet selection and the first thing they would of done was find a new helmet sponsor. A company like Giro has a history of making helmets that are pretty good across a wide range of people. Those Sky rider were fast despite a piss poor helmet choice.
