Cool web site for weather nerds

I like this one because is shows 'the big picture' and you can see how the pressure gradients are pushing the temperature and moisture around. And it reminds me to be grateful for not being in the Canadian West right now. Brrrrrr.

I use windy.com all the time before I head out fishing. It's really amazing how accurate it is also.

I use windy to plan sailing trips, but I actually prefer predictwind (more specific to boating) and has a lot more data, though requires a subscription. I'll check predictwind against windy to get an accurate picture. Buoyweather is also pretty good.

I knew which one you were talking about, without even opening the thread

I'm with you on this.
When I saw the thread title, I thought, they couldn't possibly be referring to windy.com, could they?

I use it every day at work to maintain the broad picture of regional weather and, during the summer storm season, to watch for storm clusters.

It was insanely windy last night.

Long Chile was a silly place.

I love that site. I moved from Minnesota to Portland, OR about 5 years ago. Always fun to look at MN’s weather in the winter - like right now: it is from 15-30F colder than the states surrounding it. So happy to get away from those winters.

Why is Upington, South Africa the hottest spot on earth today (according to windy.com)? 97 degrees farenheit! What gives?

Just an FYI for anyone using iOS, there is a Windy app too.
