Rotator Cuff Repair
So after a decade off of tri’s, 2 kids and 25lbs more, I decided to jump back in and signed up for 70.3 Madison.

I have little to no fitness now, and was using this as a goal to get my butt I. Gear over the winter. Then I got hurt playing hockey.

Found out this morning I have a small tear in my rotator cuff. So no swimming for 5 moths ish.

How has your recovery been after this? I was a natural swimmer and swam as a kid, so I am not worried about having 6 weeks to train to be able to comfortably knock out the mile swim. It’s just doing that on top of the repair and everything else.

Thanks,

Who told you no swimming? That’s bad advice. RC tears are normal as we age. You may have even had it prior to your hockey injury. Depending on how old you are, it likely won’t heal but will scar down and be asymptomatic. Find a PT and do rehab. Swim if it doesn’t make you worse.

The swim will probably be cancelled anyway.
