Introducing IRONPAWS - helping homeless pets through triathlon racing!
Greetings fellow SlowTwitchers!

We are finally ready to unveil the little project that we have been pouring our time and energy into during the offseason!

Introducing IRONPAWS!

IronPaws athletes raise money for Animal Rescue Organizations through triathlon racing! Our organization selects different animal shelters around the country and sets a fundraising goal. Our first goal is to raise $3,000 for Wayside Waifs, a shelter in Kansas City, MO. Our donations will help them purchase more kennels to house the ever increasing number of homeless pets!! Once this goal is achieved we will pick another shelter and a new goal to work towards!

We know that most triathletes LOVE their pets…they’re our training buddies and our companions. There are several ways to help IronPaws achieve its goals! These are included below:

  • Donate! The quickest and simplest way is by donating. Visit our webpage (www.ironpaws.org) and click on “donate”. Donations of any size are encouraged! Every little bit counts!!

  • Join Team IronPaws! You need not be an Ironman-in-training to help! Just promise us that you will do your best to raise money for the cause and you can be part of the team! Team members will have their bios added to the IronPaws website with the option of having race reports posted online! You will also receive your very own IronPaws email address!! Email Jen at jendz@ironpaws.org.

  • Shop at iGive! By accessing the iGive shopping network through the IronPaws website (http://www.ironpaws.org), a percentage of your purchase at several online shops (including many that carry tri-gear such as Nashbar, RoadRunner Sports, REI, Patagonia, etc) will go to IronPaws!

  • Send us your rescue stories! We are compiling an archive of rescue success stories to be added to our website! So if you acquired your best friend from some sort of shelter, rescue organization, etc, send us your story (plus pictures please!), you may be featured on the IronPaws site!

We encourage you to check out our website (http://www.ironpaws.org) and let us know what you think! Be sure to sign our guest book while you’re there!

We know triathletes love their pets, lets use this sport to do a little good for those in need!

Sincerely,
Jen
