Well, so they kill few thousand, so what is the rest of the world going to do? Do you want cheap electronics and staff or not?

Somebody please watch the video and correct me if I'm wrong, but I just watched the video and didn't see any practice for shooting protesters. The closest thing to it was firing what would appear to be tear gas canisters at a crowd.

Sure, the rest of the video shows the military doing military things so firing on protesters could be inferred if that's what you want to see, but there's nothing explicit in this video so that clickbait headline is misleading at best.

But again, I'm open to being corrected.

Sort of....After the Tiananmen massacre, it was business as usual with China. Nothing has changed. The world is still gobbling up cheap made in China stuff, tourists are still going there in millions spending billions of tourist dollars there with which China is building up its army. So they kill few thousand in Hong Kong. And then what? Will we stop buying made in China to show them? Nope, nobody will.

I felt the same way. I also thought they could have been practicing a staged event. I did not see anything alarming.

They aren't fooling around with the Uyghurs either.

They constantly try to escape from the darkness outside and within

And trump parrots Beijing talking points calling the protests riots. Why would the president of the united states not stand up for people protesting for their freedom and instead attack them?

This is why I can't take trump voters seriously, especially when they claim he is standing up for American or traditional American values. He is doing the exact opposite of both those things and the world is watching.

I found that statement confusing and counterproductive as well.

I agree it’s kinda disturbing that it got out in there. This HK protest and insurrection will be interesting to watch for the next few months. I think at the very least we will see more protests which will in fact push China to be more harsh. It knows the international community is watching, but it’s response will be this is an internal affair. As an aside, with a country of a billion people social instability is a real threat. A legitimate, though not sustainable tool
Is police forces to put down protests. Not saying it’s ribht just saying it’s oossible.

The ambiguity you saw in the video may have been purposeful. Did you not also read the articles? The Chinese are reacting to control a situation that has potential to move from peaceful demonstrations with a whole bunch of folks from growing to even more folks and maybe toward not so peaceful. Not that much a leap to the next Tiananmen. They are definitely signalling. It was a logical next step for them.

But yes, the was an element of click bait to the op title.
