I want to do my first middle distance triathlon next week.. without training for it. (I know this is not the best/healthiest idea, but I wanna try it)
I'm quite sporty but haven't done anything like this before, so I've got a lot of questions.
BTW: I'm M19, 1.90m tall, 73kg (body fat percentage ~11%)
(6ft 2.8", 160lbs)
Do you have some recommendations for food for the days before the triathlon, the day of the triathlon and while the triathlon? Which food/how much?
I also read, that many athletes eat gel and power bars. Which gel can you recommend and how much would you eat? Do you mix it with your water?
I also read, that ~200ml (0.058gal) of water / 30min is recommended. So I should take ~3l (0.8gal) of water with me?
I think, that I will have some issues with cramps due to the missing training. How much magnesium (or other things) should I consume the days before the triathlon and while the triathlon?
Would you use horse liniment?
I hope these are all the questions. It would be great if you could answer some of it or send me some links, where I can read in these topics!
