1-0. Then everything is downhill

Partially related rant: The NFL should make every teams' schedule like GB or Phila's. Both end with 3 (or 4, PHL plays the Giants 2x) divisional games. Detroit ends with an AFC game then GB?!?
At least every team end with a rival/divisional game : Miami-NE, Det-GB, Chicago-MIN, Denver-Raiders, Dallas-DC, etc.

There are 7 winnable games.

Cards
The Packers x 2 games.
Giants
The Washington Franchise
Bucs
Broncos

They will probably win half of those plus steam one they should not have won. I see 4-5 wins this season. And the start of some hard questions about Stafford's future.

It's an odd schedule. The NFL went out of its way the last couple years to ensure the final 2 games (if not 3) are against division rivals. Getting an AFC game is odd.

I agree with continuing the current 4 game winning streak against Green Bay. Not sure where the other wins will come from.

There's an iinteresting article about the constraints and considerations that go into the algorithm to determine the schedule... You can blame (or thank) Dr. Karwan.

"This is, by far, the hardest mathematical thing I've ever done," Dr. Mark Karwan, a professor of operations research at the University at Buffalo, told USA TODAY Sports.
Karwan explains the NFL's puzzle is much harder to solve than, say, a field like airline management . . .

Saw a discussion about rest days. This upcoming season the Lions get the most and the Patriots get the least. Don't remember the numbers but it was just interesting to me, someone took the time to look at it.

... way more complicated than a simple, "16 choose 2" calculation.
And when the schedule's released, I expect coaching staffs scrutinize it to optimize a whole bunch of other considerations like rest days, travel logistics, "easy/difficult" opponent, etc. etc.

It's obvious they can't win with Stafford. Why pay him when there is no ROI worth a damn.
