Have you heard of the phrase "Gen 1?"
Upon retelling my story of feeling old because of the expressions people made when they had heard that I saw the original star wars in the theater when it was released, I was told today by someone that there is a term for people like me:

Gen 1

It refers to the generation of people who were kids when the original star wars was released (I would guess born between 1963 and 1973) and is somewhat of a term for reverence.
She apparently heard the term at the star wars park in Orlando.

I've yet to corroborate this story via any internet sources, but being Gen 1 I'm going to do what we did before there was an internet and just assume that its true because I like the way it sounds. ;)

I suppose it is better than if they just said, "wow, you are fucking old."

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

Dude, its specifically related to categorizing star wars fans, not universal American generations.

That’s what happens when you’re at work skimming and then remark. For the record, I was born in 65’ so I would assume I’m a Gen 1.

Nope

And the Greatest were born between 1901 and 27

Millennial remember 9-11
Gen X also remember the Challenger
Boomers also remember JFK
Silent also remember Korea I guess?
Greatest also died in WWII

Barry: I've never heard that, even from my star wars super nerd sister-in-law.
