My assessment of him turned out to be spot on.

He was really good at cutting weight so was always fighting smaller guys.

Once it became apparent that the cuts were taking a toll (and they banned the use of IVs) he moved up and got his ass beat.

One trick pony, good at marketing.

Good on him for getting out while his brain is still in tact.

I hope he stays retired.

So he did what nearly every single fighter does as they age. Very few aging fighters who can’t cut the weight anymore are successful moving up. It’s the double whammy. He got his ass beat by a fighter who could do down as one of the greatest fighters of all time. You sure went out on a limb there!

I don't think he has to go back to anything if he doesn't want to.

He made a boat load of money and seems to be reasonably smart with it. I hate his persona, but, can't fault the guy for doing well in life.

I hope he finds something productive and fulfilling to do with his time. Retiring at 30... That's a lot of life left to live.

He also built quite the .. uhh.. persona outside the octagon. I'm guessing jailed or dead before he's 40. He's going to flip switch on the wrong person at some point.

Nice guess at jail time!

Its hard to knock a guy for being 21-4. 17-2 in his last 19 fights, and one of those two to a welter weight.

A lot of tomato cans, last minute opponents and a work or two in there.

Add into that some lucky punches and there just isn’t much there.

I'm going to translate this to read,

"He's not nearly as good as he appears to be. In other words, he's still an awesome fighter, just not the top of the class."

That’s pretty close. He’s very good at his game but has a very limited game.

Nate Diaz lost the rematch because Nate Diaz is stupid and decided to box with him.

Conner is easy to beat. Take to the ground and he’s lost.

You can never be a “great” mma fighter with his complete lack of wrestling and Jiu Jitsu.

Bottom line is that Conner is over rated.

That being said I totally understand his appeal to a certain type of fan.

Nice guess at jail time!

Wait till he finds out there are no weight classes in prison, and a 6'6" 300lb homie wants his pork & beans

Floyd Mayweather is easy to beat, too. All you have to do is hit him.

"Bottom line is that Conner is over rated. "

I won't argue that. I think you and I just have a different definition of what "easy to beat" means.

That would be interesting. McGregor is literally a walking weapon. I think eventually he pisses off the wrong guy and he gets capped. He seems to have an entourage, I don't think outside of prison he's getting a beat down unless he's really caught off guard.

People greatly underestimate just how lopsided a one on one no weapon fight between someone who trains and someone who doesn’t would be. And then there are pros like Conner who are on a whole other level.

Conner vs prison Bubba? Bubba gets knocked out in seconds.
