High Fashion Idiocy, continued

if Prada's racist dolls, and Gucci's blackface sweater, weren't enough stupidity from Fashionland, here an item from Burberry's latest line. What could possibly go wrong?

Well... you are talking about it, and talking about Burberry, that's a win for them already.

The line was suppose to be "marine themed" there are so many different nautical knots they could have chosen from.... It's a very prominent feature it's hard to believe somewhere along the way when they were designing/creating it someone on the team wouldn't look at the noose and think it was a poor idea because of the whole suicide/lynching thing. ( This is suppose to be an industry that's all about symbolism and messaging and meaning in what they create ) Ironic.

"Though the design was inspired by the marine theme that ran throughout the collection, it was insensitive and we made a mistake."

Marine theme, okey doke. They can't be honest and say they were trying to be edgy, and it backfired. That's what's really wrong.

Oh the rope?

Don’t worry, Billy Bailey isn’t around to be upset by it.

Hmmm....I've been sailing extensively for over 30 yrs and am fairly handy with marine related knots. I've never seen a noose used on a vessel before...

Yeah, it's much easier to have any miscreants walk the plank. No noose needed.

This model wore the exact same outfit last year on the same exact runway.

Heh, just at first glance I totally missed the noose... instead I thought the flesh-colored hood made her face look kinda clitty, no?

That’s kind of odd.

I hadn't noticed in the original pic that the noose is the drawstring for the hoodie, which, ok, is insensitive but is also clever.

Jussie would be the perfect spokesmodel, they should sign him.
