Running HR after a hard bike

My HR when running after a harder bike is consistently lower than it would be for a run without biking beforehand. For instance, this morning I did a Zwift race and then a 35' run afterwards and my HR for the run was an avg of 143. At the same pace without biking the HR would probably be closer to 150. Is there any sort of reason for this happening? This also happens for me in races as well - HR lower than it normally would be at a similar pace.

Best guess is that the bike is an excellent warm-up tool. All of the muscles and joints are flowing and lubed, making the whole process a smidgen easier.

I'm the complete opposite. My HR is always higher when I run after biking.

Same here, and my fastest runs are always in triathlons. Granted I don't do many running races, but I'm more comfortable, lower HR, and faster off the bike. I'd love to understand it as well.

This is absolutely the answer. The heart has been pumping blood and arteries have dilated already a bit to compensate for the bike workout.
