There was definitely a need for choices when it comes to razors because they became ridiculously expensive. Mach III replacement blades are like $20 for 4 or something stupid like that. I never fell for that trap, and am perfectly content with my twin blade disposable razors--they work great.
Companies like Harry's saw the market and went for it. I'm glad they have succeeded. They provided a quality razor that does the job for a fraction of the cost and it's hurting P&G. Good.
I never understood how Gillette got such a monopoly on razors.
A razor is a perfect product to sell. They probably cost about 10 cents to make, shipping would be extremely cheap, the market is permanently established with people who grow hair...
