Cycling shoes for fat feet

I have a mate that turned up to ride his brand new s works with mountain bike shoes. It was a freaking disgrace.

Anyway he said he uses them because he has wide feet.

Any brands of road shoes that do wide feet?

The acceptable options are:
a) Look like a pro
and/or
b) Ride like a pro

If b), you are permitted to wear whatever you want.
Of course if you ride an S-Works, you'd better be in category b) or people* won't respect you regardless of your choice of cleats.

*by "people" I mean me.

Your buddy can wear what he likes!
However I have chunky feet and use Shimano Wide Fit shoes a size or two too long. Haven't found a better option yet. Have been using these for 8 years.

Specialized has a wide version of their top of the line shoe.

Sidi has a wide fit version of some of their models.

Lake also has a pretty generous fit.

You friend has several options if he doesn't want to use mountain bike shoes.

Without a doubt lake cycling shoes or bont will have the best selection for wide feet. Lake are one of the only companies on the market that actually make the base of shoe physically wider as opposed to just having a more voluminous upper.

+1 if he meant it

Although I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and pretending his comment was tongue in cheek.

I have very wide and high feet and use the Sidi wide models (think they're called Mega). Also have custom moulded insoles which helps as I have high arches which they support rather than my feet spreading.

Google Lintamen shoes. He's an american living in Taiwan who created his own line of shoes. Fully adjustable and the best shoe I've seen in quite some time.

Sidi makes most of their shoes in wide sizes, I think they call them "Mega".

They are great shoes, very high quality.

My Lintaman shoes will will be here in about a week. Very much looking forward to putting them on my wide feet and start a mid-foot cleat position to calm my neuromas. We'll see; I'll post photos when I get them.
