yet another - too high, too low - seat

Sorry for the very very rough video im trying to see if my knee angle is within tolerance'. I belive thats 138-142 degrees give or take? Im a natural toe pointer, and i was getting hip and itb pain of late, so i have dropped the saddle 5mm in this vid. Small difference but i notice it - i feel like im not going through a full pedal revolution - like its smaller circles. I know that sounds weird, its as if i have shortened my extension and its quite noticble. Maybe thats a good thing?

i got my 8 year old to take a video of some sort of pedalling motion haha. Be warned. He's 8 and his little brother is 5 ;). Its all i had to work with this afternoon ;)
Im purely looking at seat height whether im about right or too low.

thanks

It's actually supposed to be 140-150 but it doesn't mean you get to choose any number in that range and it will be fine. For me 143-144 is the sweet spot. 148-149 and I get ITB issues.

What's your CdA?

this is true. I have been riding 5mm up in height for a few years but have only started getting itb pain when i upped bike volume. Lowering the seat a touch seems to lessen it. Im just curious i havent gone too low

less toe pointing (ankle angle at maximum flexion a bit high) you may be toe pointing to compensate for the higher saddle height

Thanks mate, i didnt think my knee angle was *too* bad, glad to take your reccomendation on board. As an aside, would lowering the saddle possibly increase power?

yes. instead of picking at the bottom of the pedal stroke (little power) - you will get full range of power
