RE: Lodging...contact all of the hotels and guest houses on the Norseman Accommodations page and stay ANYWHERE close to the race start. Use a map to find out how far away if you go off that list and use AirB&B or some other. Book now, book anything, don't wait. If everything is full, contact them all back every week until you do get a place as they do turn over.

Then get a spot at the finish in the Gausta hotel (I think there are 2) to say overnight or 2 night.

Then start setting aside your $10K budget for the race.

Forgot to try this year. Been in for 4 years before that. I did remember to get in the Western States draw. This is my second year in for that. So basically no chance, but still better than Norseman. :)

Very very cool!! Got myself sorted for the hotel where the t-shirt ceremony takes place and waiting to hear about Eidfjord.

It was funny because I was in a meeting with a bunch of Norwegian broadcasters and when I saw the email I yelped and had to explain myself. When I said why I was smiling they all looked at me like I was weird and one guy asked if I was mad! Going to celebrate with some local IPA :-).

I had an athlete get selected. Going for Black shirt #2!

Seriously, people who have already completed the race: I fully understand your desire to live again the adventure, but could you please consider the despair of us unlucky entrants, who haven't toed the line after multiple applications? Each year the probability of being drawn is smaller, that would be could if you don't make it even smaller by entering the lottery again. When i read "I'm going for black (or white) T-shirt #2 (or 3 or 4 or...)", I can't help but shake my head...

I got a spot! Super excited! Got my hotels booked, can't wait to go for that Black shirt.
