Ok, what did I break in the Wahoo power curve?

Noticed this recently several times for rides.

The duration curve will go back up in power at a longer duration. Like, 300w for 2min then 310w for 5min.

If I did 310 for 5min then I certainly also did it for 2min.

Sorry of that’s OCD, but was bothering me.

Not necessarily. I've seen it happen to myself not just from Wahoo's power curve but Strava and TP because it's theoretically possible.

Usually happens when you are doing hard intervals with coasting or very easy rest in between.

Simple example. Lets say for 15 seconds you put down the following watts
0
0
0
1000
0
0
0
1000
0
0
0
1000

What is your max 9 second average? Now what is your max 4 second average?

Then I was out in left field on how I thought that calculation works.

It makes sense the result I saw then. I made a little 1.5 mile segment in town with no stops in a big circle in a neighborhood with quite a few little roller hills.

I’m just surprised the math can still work out that way out in the 5 to 8 minutes range. I’d have assumed the anomaly would be in the “seconds” range.
