Not quite as exciting as last weekends Kona race.. but AZ 70.3 is this Sunday. I've raced the full AZ course many times and would love to hear some thoughts from people that have done this bike course and it's crazy turns :-O Is it as bad as the map makes it look? I always run an 11-23t IMAZ and never come out of the 53t ring so guessing that works for this course a well (unless there is some hill somewhere?)
Weather was looking great for Sunday... now it is looking not so great with 15mph winds gusting to 20 and possible rain and Thunderstorms in the morning. Oh joy, if that happens someone should grab a go pro and film how well people take those u-turns in the rain.
Rain or shine I will be there but would love some thoughts on the bike course.
Ironically I picked AZ 70.3 to have some good late season weather and I hear the hurricanes rolling through have cause a ton of rain the past few weeks... meanwhile it is in the 70's in Seattle with blue skies this week (and I assure you that is not normal.)
