A man in his late 20s plowed a silver Ford Fiesta into pedestrians and cyclists outside the British Parliament building in central London, the UK, this morning in an act strongly reminiscent of other motor vehicle attacks on pedestrians that have been tied back to radical Islamic terrorists acting either on orders of terror groups or who were inspired by such organizations.
Police and British counter-terror officials are calling it an act of terror on the part of the driver, whose name and description have so far not be released by police, who arrested him after his crash into a physical barrier outside the building. Parliament has been the site of previous similar vehicle-based terror acts, including in 2017. In this case, the vehicle's path was finally stopped by that anti-terror barrier, which had been put into place after the 2017 attack.
"Politics is just show business for ugly people."
