HD has about a 42% market share of all motorcycles sold in the US, 50% for 600cc and above (source). The next biggest is Honda at around 15%. You are firmly in the minority.

Sales of all motorcycles in the U.S. are going down. Imports, exports, HD, Honda. And no company that manufactures in the U.S. can compete at the low end. That's why HD competes at the high end.

HD, to survive, is trying to develop foreign markets.

Closest competitor that also manufactures in the U.S. is probably Indian/Polaris. They're also debating developing foreign markets with foreign manufacturing.

Because they're trying to run a sustainable business.

I agree, they are trying to develop a bigger foreign market because their sales are down in the US. And, they will get into a few different designs that they have never attempted.

And we all know trump sometimes tweets stupid shit.

Harley still is not a bike I would ever be interested in. And I am just fine belonging to that minority group.

I heard a story of a guy who rode an import bike to a motorcycle rally. He came back to his “parked” motorcycle to find it taken apart. Lol

One thing is certain, HD has a loyal crowd.

I like the look of the Triumph and Indian bikes. Although, I rarely have time to ride anything, so I’m certainly not in the market to buy one.

What is astonishing is that he's singled out, even hoping they go under, a solitary American company that has been around a hundred years and slamming them for doing what they have to do in order to survive. Its fairly safe to assume Trump has never even rode a motorcycle in his life. Every one of these base supporters at this "Bikers for Trump" rally is probably on a Harley. Makes me wonder what the heck they are thinking.

Well that is hardly the least crazy thing about Trump taking pictures with the "Bikers for trump". I mean they had visible Nazi tattoos, not even subtle ones, one was a SS tattoo. Seriously, trump to a picture with someone with a SS tattoo a few feet away. Either trumps staff are just incompetent and not checking for this sort of thing or they are ok with it.

I wish he would stop doing this stuff.

I'm just surprised that he didn't talk about HD when he met the bikers in person but waited until he was back behind his computer to say something.

Probably the same people rip on people who drive Honda cars, you know the ones that are more USA made than most cars.
