Hed has just posted their new line-up of wheels on their website and they now offer Stinger wheels in 50, 60, and 90mm depths. This matches the Jet depths. As far as I can tell, the only difference in the lines is the toroidal shape. Is this going to make a huge difference? Is there something else worth the $100 price gap?

In the pictures the Stingers look like they have carbon rims and the jets have aluminum. So if you want clinchers the jets might be your only choice.

The Jets are an aluminum rim with a soft carbon fairing over it. The Stinger is a hard structural carbon rim that the spokes attach to. The Stingers are available in tubular only, they are similar in shape, and function to Zipp wheels. The Jets are a more training/race wheel, offering a ride similar to a low profile rim, just with a fairing for improved aerodynamics. Oh and the Stingers are a ton lighter.

I wouldn't call the jets a training wheel.
