My home keg is getting down there and need to order another for the summer.

I need to balance flavor with and likability for guests.

Currently have Sam Adams Boston Lager. Good mix for everyone. Beer guys will drink it, bud light drinkers will drink it.

Had some Bell's two hearted, but a bit heavy if I'm going to have a few on a week night. Need to avoid IPAs for the same reason.

Thinking more Sam Adams, maybe Summit EPA (had that before as well)

Other thoughts?

I like High life/Bud heavy/original Coors, but those are best ice cold out of bottles.

For a summer beer, I have really gotten into the Belgian Wit style beers. Most of them have some sort of citrus flavor and a big wedge of an orange, especially a blood orange, goes really well. I know these are on the 'light' side for beer, but when you want something that goes down fast and easy without any bitter hoppiness, the whole category is great. Use a frozen ale glass out of the freezer and pour it in to enjoy.

I'm a pale ale, IPA kind of guy. My summer go-tos are hoppy pilsners. Bright, crisp, tasty, and just enough hops to scratch that itch. Top contenders, in no particular order:

Sam Adams Noble Pils
Victory Brewing Company Prima Pils
Oscar Blues Mama's Little Yella Pils
Sixpoint Brewery The Crisp

Dogfish Head makes a pear infused version, which is also worth a try. Piercing Pils. Their SeaQuench Ale is also spectacular for an after mowing beverage.

I like pilsners in the summer. (I like them all year round actually, but particularly in the summer.) Pilsner Urquell and Staropramen are in my rotation. Sam Adams Noble Pils is decent too.

x2 on the Pilsners. Steam Whistle is brewed locally and is in constant rotation in my beer fridge, but don't know if they export to you folks down south.

Founders All-Day IPA isn't too strong or hoppy, while being very drinkable.

That and founders pc pils are great. The pc pils is a hopped Pilsner but not nearly as hoppy as all day

New Belgium Sunshine Wheat. Delish and refreshing with a lemon wedge. Same makers of Fat Tire. There Skinny Dip isn’t bad either. It’s their version of a light beer.

Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat is the best summer beer for me. Slight fruit taste and aroma but mostly a good wheat beer.
Surly Hell is a great Munich Helles.

If you get a chance to check out the actual Bell's brewery, I highly recommend it. The amount of non-bottled beer they rotate through is impressive, plus their food nails it now that they've expanded to a proper kitchen. K'zoo has a ton of breweries, particularly for the size of town, and several other places with strong beer selections. Really, West Michigan is probably as good as anywhere in the country for a microbrew scene. The winter sucks, but other than that it's a great place to call home. And when it's not, it's a great place to drink the woes away.

I'm over on the other side of the lake, and haven't yet had the pleasure of visiting the brewery but I'm a big fan of their work. Closest I've come was a few years back - me and Mrs. Ti went to K'zoo for one of those multisport events that shall not be mentioned here and got invited to a post-race party featuring great folks, food and a cold barrel of Oberon. The Mrs. just about had to drag me out of there so we could make the drive home.

Still have one 6 pack of HopSlam in the fridge but probably not for much longer.

I like these "How big is a rock?" questions.

Keg...that basically means it's got to be innocuous enough that you don't mind drinking it in a variety of moods and with a variety of foods. Anything too fruity/strong/distinctive might get old quickly.

I'd go with

Shocktop
Pacifico
Miller/Bud Lite depending on your preference.

Edit: the above suggestion for Blue Moon is a good one as well. The "easy to find" makes it tough. If I could find Magic Hat's Elder Betty here in Ohio, I'd never leave my basement.

Just pick your favorite middle of the road beer and be done with it. Personally I wouldn't go IPA, pilsner or wheat but something more pale ale or lager to appeal to most people.

Anyone who turns down beer out of a tap from your place because it's not the right kind doesn't deserve much consideration anyway!

Long Chile was a silly place.
