Aero head vs Giro advantage 2
I know the aero head is supposed to be faster, but how much faster??

Do i really need to upgrade?

Assume that they are both the correct helmet for me

Depends on a number of factors.

1) are you missing Kona by 25 seconds? Then yes you need the upgrade. MOPers like me not so much.

2) is it “time” for a new lid? There are some A2’s left. This is the boat I’m in. Very few cheap A2’s left from reputable sellers.

3) Does it fit your triathlon budget? If you’re maxing our you’re personal triathlon spending and putting off something more important than a marginal helmet upgrade then no. If you have money to burn and you’re looking for a good way to buy some speed then yes.

Finally, I’ve “heard” somewhere around 15w from advertisers. But all I’ve been told is “faster
But not 15w” from real world experience.

I still lapped everyone on the couch!

15 Watts is quite optimistic. When I tested at A2 it was four watts. Truth be told, the fact that the A2 is lighter and better ventilated gives me pause when I pick a helmet for a race. The only reason lighter matters to me is that it’s easier on my neck.
