This story has all sorts of WTF? in it.

Teacher leaves his legal, loaded handgun in the toilet cubicle. WTF?
A guy finds it. He fires it into a wall. The guy is a homeless person - WTF is he doing using the washrooms in a public school?

What sane parent would allow their kid to go to a school like that?

The public toilet was at the beach, not in the school.

He didn't leave the gun in a school washroom, he left it in a public washroom at the "Deerfield Beach Pier".
