Like many of us in the upper northern hemisphere, my bike has been on the trainer for the last few months. Since this is my first winter doing serious indoor training, I'm a little puzzled about how adjust my normal bike maintenance schedule. I use a different rear wheel, tire, and cassette, so my outside setup for tire life and cassette life is paused. Will the chain wear at the same rate as it would for outside miles? Do you lube your chain as often as you do outside? What about degreasing/washing? Do you swap out your shift cables in the spring? Are there there things I should be checking on my bike that may be overlooked?

your BB and headset bearings may begin to rust if not cleaned regularly. My BB, if not blown on by a supersonic jet engine will rust in about 6 weeks
