The wider tires actually have less rolling resistance, but the the 20mm will be more aero with most aero wheels. But - I believe Zipp doesn't recommend 20's on their newest wheels.

Plus, I find wider tires are a tad more comfortable.

Great reduction of "pinch flats" aka "snake bite flats" with the 23s. This can be a big deal for riders over 180 lbs on rough surfaces but probably not too important to lighter riders and or smooth surfaces.
