The new talking point is "fighting back", which is not to be confused with "obstruction."

Apparently, the target is moving. It used to be "Mueller is a partisan hack" to prepare for the indictment that might come. Now it is "It wasn't obstruction, it was fighting back." Perhaps after that it will be "Executive Privilege!" Sorta like the arguments against climate change have "evolved."

The other thing that has come out of this is that the reason Trump's lawyers have been telling him they believe Mueller is close to wrapping up the investigation, is in order to stall him from firing Mueller, which he apparently is still expressing an inclination to do.

So while senior advisers like Kelly Ann Conway have been telling us for months Trump is "not even discussing firing Mueller," was she lying or just not in the loop?

Ha Ha! The FBI just issued a statement that the Nunes memo is a lie! Ask the White House not to release it.
