I've always heard that uphills make you strong, downhills screw up your knees.

you do have to be careful running down hills. Knee problems can occur; the other issue is that it puts a lot of pressure on your bones, especially on paved roads. My first stress fracture was partly caused by running downhill, on pavement, way faster than I should have. The shock is a lot for your joints to absorb.

Hills are like everything else: use it right and get strong, do it wrong and you get hurt.

Welcome to Welly. 586 steps + a whole lot more up from town to my place. Always nice after a long ride.

they make the riding fun. the climbing is invigorating and the descending is a blast.
