very similar circumstances:

my daughter is 4 (preschool every morning) and my son is 2 1/2, preschool m-w. i'm SUPPOSED to be training while they are in school m-w, but it hasn't been too consistent this fall...bad daddy.

oh, and my wife is a hedge fund sector head. for now...she's eyeing my job tho... IT'S MINE, ALL MINE!

I hear you (um, I read you?). My wife and I both had careers in Banking. Once we came to the decision that one of us would stay home, we played Rochambeau for it; I won - she is still asking for a rematch. Well, actually, she is incredible at what she does and I suck at anything requiring technical knowledge (i.e. investment banking). I'm the artsy-fartsy one, so it made more sense for her to continue up the corporate ladder while I changed the diapers, play with crayons and have an Apple Struesal Tart with Honey Crust waiting on the table. But most days, she would trade me places in a New York minute.
