I'll be there for something like the 8th time. The Tinsel Tri is right at the top in terms of fun for your dollar. We should have a pretty good group from IITC.

See you there,

thats not cool - you warm climate types talking about upcoming races when I haven't done a tri in over three months and have about 6.5 months until my next one!

$35? I paid $50. Where did you see $35? Oh, that's for returning competitors, right?

Look for us IITCers in action. I'll be there. I hear it's a new venue this year. This race is always fun - great way to cap off the season and slide into the holidaze.

Me & Mrs. Relax2dmax will be there.

Matt, wheres Luke?. Tri-bb, Collegiate plus returning price. If there was a Google Earth shot of race day, you would be looking at a sea of red/orange/and black IITC'ers. I swear you guys own stock in backwards SB tri's!! Should be fun, later

Had fun at the new course. I was suprised to see how much drafting was going on. Typically if you had a 50-53min overall, you were in a pack of riders or you put up a smokin 5k split. The leader drafted off the escort suburban going 35 mph. Will plan to do it next year again. Keau

What a great morning for a race! Indeed, tons of drafting going on. I was about 8 miles into the bike and passed a guy who quickly geared up and jumped on my wheel for about 2 miles before someone coming the other direction yelled at him "NICE DRAFTING". Either he felt guilty and backed off or I lost him. My wife said she rode in a pack of three for a few miles all of them taking turns drafting. It wasn't USAT-sanctioned to my knowledge, so there was never a mention of legality on drafting, so I saw plenty, but made a point not to do it myself.
Managed a 13th out of about 70 in my AG, and my wife got 3rd in hers. Very fast, flat course, and a beautiful, but extremely short swim at the end in a brand new pool. The bike, we basically had one entire side of a parkway with two lanes. For me, I think that was a PB for 12 miles for me!

Thanks Bob. Guess I missed a good day of surf, but I checked it this afternoon and it looked walled and crowded! Heading to Trestles in the morning!
