Self Painting a Bike

I am going to get a single speed for communting (hopefully) and I was wondering what would be the easiest way to paint it flat black like the cervelos. Any ideas?

If you're building it for commuting, I'd look for someone who can powder coat it. Not sure if they can do a flat black, but it sure is durable. Are you going fixed, or freewheel??

Flat black might be the only shade that you could paint yourself since flat black won't easily show flaws. Some spray bombs of a fairly tough paint might work.

Cervelo uses anodizing to get that "flat black" look you are asking about. If you were to do it yourself I would suggest a flat black spraypaint, high quality $8 or $9 per can kind. Followed by a matte acylic clear topcoat. Be sure to test on something else than your frame to see how it goes.

No problem for flat black powder coating. It is readily available. Sandblast than pretreat (iron or zinc phosphate) first, then powdercoat. The finish will last 20-30 years.
